The Story of the Madman in Lycra
We are very excited to announce that our very own madman, prophet & wanderer will be taking part in the London to Monaco bike ride this year, launched by marine charity Blue Marine Foundation (BLUE)
On Wednesday evening at Rapha’s Spitalfields store, Steve proudly unveiled the cycling kit we have exclusively designed for the London to Monaco ride. The cycling outfit and accessories showcase the ocean hues of the Blue Marine marque in a chic, standout design.
A charitable challenge
Needless to say, Steve is looking forward to taking part in this challenging but rewarding event. It’s a vital way for sponsors and donators to support the incredible work BLUE undertakes on behalf of our oceans.
The ride will span a massive 1400km of ground and 19,000 metres of elevation across four exciting route options. Steve will be completing the first stage from London to Folkestone on Sunday 17th September. This leg of the race amounts to an impressive 115km!
Steve has begun a gruelling training regime to get those legs limber and lycra-ready. Although in true Edge fashion, Steve vows that he won’t be seen wearing the black shorts like all other cyclists, he will instead be getting creative with the lycra, so watch this space…
Following the huge success of last year’s cycle, this year BLUE aims to raise £250,000 for ocean conservation. This will support four of their amazing projects. To learn more about their work and how to join Steve on the ride please visit: www.london-monaco.cc
